OTTAWA COMMUNITY HOUSING WELCOMES NEW CEO

OTTAWA – April 7, 2014. Ottawa Community Housing’s (OCH) Board of Directors is very pleased to announce that Stéphane Giguère has joined the organization today as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Stéphane Giguère is a seasoned executive and a leader in the development of business

partnerships and customer service. He most recently served as Corporate Director of CBC/Radio-Canada, responsible for strategic and operational groups and projects related to revenue generation and organizational effectiveness.

Before joining CBC/Radio-Canada seven years ago, he spent 13 years in the high tech and banking sectors deploying business, financial and technology solutions across several market segments including municipalities and governments. Stéphane has held senior management positions at Scotiabank and Telesat Canada and was vice-president of Cognicase in Ottawa.

Stéphane is a graduate of École Nationale d’Administration Publique in Québec City, holding a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. As well, Stéphane has completed executive management programs at Queen’s and McGill Universities. Since 1994, he has held the designation of Chartered Administrator. During his post-graduate studies, Stéphane co- authored articles on the performance of Boards of Directors and performance management in Health Care and Municipal sectors.

Stéphane has lived in the Ottawa area since 1998. He is married and the proud father of a son and a daughter; Tristan – currently attending the University of Waterloo and Rosalie, currently attending high school in Ottawa. He is a community volunteer with numerous sports programs and charitable organisations.

OCH Chair Councillor Marianne Wilkinson welcomes Stéphane’s appointment with great enthusiasm. “Under Stéphane’s leadership, we are confident that OCH will continue to grow as a leader in the delivery of quality, affordable housing, working with the City of Ottawa and our many community partners to improve the lives of our tenants while ensuring financial sustainability of the organization.”

OCH Chair Wilkinson and CEO Giguère will be available from 2:30-3:30pm in the Colonel By Room at City Hall on Wednesday April 9 to meet with members of the media and city officials.
