On Thursday, May 16, the Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) residents at 138 Arlington Street will welcome 60 Canadian Bar Association volunteers to their Centretown community. Starting at 8:45 a.m., the volunteers will be painting all the hallways and common areas in this four-storey loft style apartment building.

Benjamin Moore and Catherine Street Store Manager Serge Hiladie have generously assisted with paint, supplies, gift bags with t-shirts and, in addition, are hosting the Canadian Bar Association volunteers, OCH staff and guest speakers for a BBQ luncheon at their storefront location.

The Canadian Bar Association, Benjamin Moore and Ottawa Community Housing are pleased to join together in an exciting partnership promoting volunteerism in our City.

Volunteers and corporate contributions demonstrate the great spirit of caring that helps convey the true spirit of OCH’s mission – to deliver affordable housing and healthy communities,” comments Councillor Marianne Wilkinson, OCH Board Chair. “We greatly appreciate their social conscience – they make a very real impact in our communities.”

Media are invited to attend the event. A celebratory ceremony and BBQ luncheon will take place at 11:45 a.m. with special guest speakers Councillor Marianne Wilkinson, Councillor Diane Holmes and OCH CEO Jo-Anne Poirier. The BBQ will be held outside the Benjamin Moore store at 320 Catherine Street.
