Why this volunteer project?

Many OCH communities have lost dozens, if not hundreds of trees to the Emerald Ash Borer. We can coordinate a volunteer project to help plant trees in one of the neighborhoods that were most impacted.

What′s involved?

  • Removing the dirt from the holes
  • Planting the trees and laying fresh soil/mulch
  • Carrying the wood
  • Working in team to build the picnic table (instructions and on site support provided)
  • Use of hammers and drills is required
  • All tools will be provided including safety gear
  • Some flexibility in tasks is available to meet the needs of those who require less strenuous tasks

Project Funding

Cost: $$

This project is not funding dependent, however monetary contributions from the group to donate towards the community projects are always appreciated.

Project Location

This community is located in Ottawa East, off of Paul avenue, on Carson’s road. Limited parking is available. Bussing or carpooling is encouraged.
