Media Advisory: Turner & Townsend’s Ottawa-Based Employees To Achieve Community Housing Volunteer Milestone with OCH

(OTTAWA, ON) August, 26, 2021 – Ottawa Community Housing Corporation will be welcoming a group of approximately 20 volunteers from the international professional services company, Turner & Townsend. This year’s event is a milestone, it will be their fifth year of volunteering in Ottawa’s OCHC communities. Their hard work and dedication has benefited more than 2,000 OCHC tenants. 

The volunteers will be joined by Ottawa Community Housing Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer Stéphane Giguère, Mayor of Ottawa, Jim Watson and Rideau-Vanier Councillor and OCHC Board Chair Mathieu Fleury. 

This year, Turner & Townsend’s volunteers will be working at the Lowertown Good Neighbours Community House and donating more than 140 hours of their time to plant flowers and complete other tasks focusing on the beautification of the community. 

A tenant participant in the Volunteer Engagement Program will also be present at the event.

Time: 9:00 a.m. EDT 

Location: 145 Beausoleil Drive, Ottawa 

Note: This event will take place outside. A photo opportunity will follow the opening speeches at approximately 9:10 a.m. The group will be volunteering in the community until 4:00 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to perform a COVID-19 self-assessment prior to attending the event. Please wear masks as much as possible throughout the event, keep a distance (2 metres) from others and avoid common greetings (such as handshakes).
