The Ultimate Break it Off Challenge

Ottawa Public Health is promoting The Ultimate Break It Off Challenge – a six-week contest created by Health Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society that encourages young adults 18-29 to “be done with smoking” in 2020 for their chance to win cash prizes.  

In Ottawa, 18 percent of young adults 19-24 smoke. This is higher than the general population, meaning that young adults are at increased risk of harm from smoking.  

Contest Details: 

Participants can register from January 1-February 6, 2020 at in one of three contest paths:  

  • Break It Off from Smoking ($1,000 prize) 
  • Stay Smoke-Free ($500 prize) 
  • Refer and Support a Friend ($250 prize)
