The Ultimate Break it Off Challenge
Ottawa Public Health is promoting The Ultimate Break It Off Challenge – a six-week contest created by Health Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society that encourages young adults 18-29 to “be done with smoking” in 2020 for their chance to win cash prizes.
In Ottawa, 18 percent of young adults 19-24 smoke. This is higher than the general population, meaning that young adults are at increased risk of harm from smoking.
Participants can register from January 1-February 6, 2020 at www.breakitoff.ca/ultimate-break-it-off-challenge in one of three contest paths:
- Break It Off from Smoking ($1,000 prize)
- Stay Smoke-Free ($500 prize)
- Refer and Support a Friend ($250 prize)
