What Tenants Need to Know

Canada Post is experiencing a service disruption starting September 25, 2025. Regular mail and parcel delivery are paused, and new mail is not being accepted.

To avoid any interruptions, Ottawa Community Housing is asking tenants to use alternatives to sending rent payments by mail as of now and until further notice.

Paying rent without using the Mail

There are several easy and reliable ways for tenants to pay rent without relying on mail delivery. These include:

In-Person Options

  • Rent can be paid by
    • Cheque, money order, or debit/Interac at the RAMSEY (1065 Ramsey) and CHAPEL (731 Chapel) Tenant Service Centres
    • Cheque, money order only at OCH Head Office (39 Auriga). Debit/Interact option is not available at the Head Office.

Please note:  Cash is not accepted at any OCH office.

Electronic Payment

Tenants can pay rent online, by phone, or at their bank’s ATM. These payments can be set up similarly to other bills. Contact your bank for support in setting this up.

Preauthorized Payment (PAP)

This option automatically withdraws rent from a tenant’s bank account on the 1st day of each month. Rent amount changes are updated automatically.

Tenants can set this up by logging in to their OCH—My Home account at www.och-lco.ca/my-home , downloading the fillable form available on our website at www.och-lco.ca/i-am-a-tenant/resources/tenant_forms, and emailing it to documents@och.ca.
