Media Advisory: Vincent Massey Students Give Back in OCH Community

OTTAWA, ON June 15, 2023 – Thanks to the hard work and commitment of Greg McKean, a teacher at Vincent Massey Public School, a group of nearly 30 young volunteers will make a difference in the OCH community of Russell Manor on June 15. The community houses almost 200 residents. 

Youth volunteers in Mr. McKean’s Grade 7/8 class have been visiting OCH communities for a decade, contributing to community improvements that have positively impacted thousands of tenants. 

On June 15, students will plant flowers, perform other landscape work, and clear overgrowth. 

What: Vincent Massey Public School Volunteer event 

Where: 1909 Russell Road 

When: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Agenda: 

9:00 a.m.: Welcome volunteers and orientation 

9:05 a.m.: Speech from OCH representative 

9:15 a.m.: Work begins 

2:00 p.m.: Work ends 

Note: Best time to attend the event for photos is between 9:15 and 9:45 a.m.
