Most OCH tenants pay a reduced rent, called a subsidy, based on total household income. This rental subsidy is also known as Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI). Rent-Geared-to-Income (or subsidized rentals) are equal to about 30% of total household income.

Almost all OCH communities have subsidized rentals. However, there is a waitlist for this kind of housing. All applications for subsidized housing must go through the Social Housing Registry.
