Ottawa Community Housing Welcomes New Director of Human Resources

Cindy NewellOn August 7, Ottawa Community Housing Corporation welcomed Cindy Newell, as the new Director of Human Resources.

Cindy comes to OCHC from Hydro Ottawa, where she spent almost five years, and most recently as the Director of Organizational Development. She offers a wealth of experience, with 20 years in the Human Resources field.

Cindy has held positions at IKEA Canada and CTV/Bell Media, in addition to her work with Hydro Ottawa.

As part of the faculty of the Human Resources Management Program, which is affiliated with the Sprott School of Business, Cindy teaches Human Resources Planning and Labour Relations. She also holds a designation as a Certified Human Resources Leader.

Some of Cindy’s responsibilities in her new role include: Working as a strategic business partner to provide expert advice and leadership in the delivery of integrated and innovative HR programs, services and solutions for OCHC. She will also identify and execute strategies that fully optimize OCHC’s talent and improve the employee experience – to foster an engaged workforce.
