Building safer, stronger communities together

Who knows how to make a community better? The people who live there!
Russell Heights tenants shared their ideas about how to make their community better. They looked at ways to make outdoor spaces brighter and more welcoming for neighbours.
Then, Tiree helped turn those ideas into action.
On Aug. 18, about 45 Tiree volunteers got to work. They trimmed trees, fixed fences, assembled and installed metal benches, and added new grass.
“This is our fourth-year volunteering alongside OCH, and this year the plan came from Russell Heights residents themselves,” said Catherine Jenkins, Director, People Operations, Tiree
When tenants share their ideas and partners help bring them to life, communities can become safer, stronger and more welcoming places to live.
