OTTAWA, ON – August 18, 2026 – Ottawa Community Housing will mark the start of construction on a new affordable housing development at 200 Beausoleil Drive with a ceremonial groundbreaking alongside government, community and development partners.
The 20-storey development will deliver 159 new affordable homes, including 32 accessible homes, helping increase Ottawa’s supply of affordable housing while contributing to a sustainable and inclusive community in downtown Ottawa.

Background
- The development will provide 159 affordable homes, including 32 accessible homes.
- The 20-storey building will replace a former parking structure and is designed using Passive House best-practice principles to support energy efficiency, sustainability and long-term affordability.
- Construction is being delivered by Laurin Construction, with Diamond Schmitt Architects and KWC Architects.
- The development is expected to be completed in 2028.
