June 19, 2024 – OTTAWA, ON – Approximately 70 volunteers from Home Depot stores across Ottawa joined forces to build benches, a pergola, a deck, flower boxes and picnic tables. These additions will create inviting outdoor spaces for OCH residents to gather and connect.

This marks the third community improvement project Home Depot has completed in partnership with OCH. These initiatives lay the foundation for stronger, more inclusive communities. Home Depot is generously donating the materials needed for the project.

OCH’s Volunteer Engagement Program was established in 2011. It matches corporate partners with projects that are driven by tenants and beautify communities.

Quick facts:

Other Home Depot projects:

  • September 2012: built and assembled portable at Morrison Gardens – which now operates as the Morrison Community House.
  • September 2013: rejuvenated youth centre at 201 Friel.

Community Information

  • 1163 residents
  • 344 Children and youth
  • 216 children in single parent households

“Volunteer projects transform our communities and are the essence of collaboration. We are so proud that Home Depot decided to work with us a decade ago and is committed to growing this partnership. The team really knows how “doers get more done,” and we know how givers get more done!”

Stéphane Giguère, Chief Executive Officer, OCH
