New Mural in Caldwell Community

In preparation for their Community Capital Fund mural projects, youth in the Caldwell community participated in 2 graffiti workshops led by our MASC artist-in-residence, Jimmy Baptiste. Jimmy engaged the youth in the basics of graffiti sketching and creating.

Thank you to Caldwell Family Centre for renting the space to us and Carlington Community Health Centre, Christie Lake Kids, and the City of Ottawa’s Recreation and Parks Department for bringing their youth to the workshops.

After the workshop, there was a community paint day in October. A steady group of community members joined us to help Jimmy paint. Everyone learned a great deal about graffiti art and history from Jimmy. All who participated had a great time. Mural number two will be coming soon!
