865 Gladstone is home to a new space for the Rochester Heights Community House – which serves the residents of Somerset West.

The Community House’s new digs are on the main floor of the OCH apartment building – has office space, a kitchen, and common space that can be used for programming. Residents and partners from the Coalition of Community Houses, Ottawa Public Health, Ottawa West Community Supports Aging in Place program and Somerset West Community Health Centre came together on May 3.

Now that the Community House is up and running – it will provide a range of resources, from a community kitchen to after-school programming and summer camps.

Established in 1998, the Coalition serves 16 OCH communities – connecting residents to resources where they live –  helping to address the complex needs of many low-income families.

“We are proud to support the fantastic work of the Community Houses, because we know what an impact they and the Community Health Centres have on OCH tenants. Providing on-site, easily accessible resources makes a difference every day,” said Stéphane Giguère, Ottawa Community Housing CEO.

The Community House is open for drop-in Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The after-school program runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Residents can find more information here: https://www.swchc.on.ca/programs/rochester-heights-community-house
