Property Manager’s Corner: A $10,000 Investment Transforms Lounge at 380 Murray

Collaboration between the Property Manager, the Tenant Association, the Community Developer and OCH partners – Options Bytown, resulted in a remarkable makeover in the lounge at 380 Murray Street.

The Tenant Association was so excited about the work that a member even rolled up his sleeves and painted the lounge walls himself.

The lounge, well known for its bright green walls, now sports new, more up to date colours and new floors, kitchen cabinetry, and blinds. They all received new LED lights and new ceiling tiles.

The apartment building is home to almost 400 tenants. The lounge is a vital public space for programming, reducing social isolation and providing food assistance programming.

Katherine, a member of the Tenant Association, said they host soup and sandwich events for tenants and coffee and pancakes every other Sunday.

It’s incredible what can happen when the community comes together.
