No matter where you live, a high moisture level in your bathroom makes mould almost impossible to remove, no matter how much you clean. Eliminating bathroom dampness is the key to keeping bathroom mould from growing. To do that, follow these steps:

  • After a bath or shower, use a squeegee to remove moisture from the shower walls. This is an important tool for fighting mould, as it removes three-quarters of the moisture that helps mould grow.
  • Run your bath fans during your shower or bath for half an hour to eliminate excess moisture.
  • Clean the fan and grille often.

If I see mould, how do I get rid of it?

To remove the current bathroom mould, scrub with detergent and water, then let the surface dry completely. Or use a solution of 10 percent bleach and 90 percent water (a stronger bleach solution will not give better results). Spray or brush on the solution, let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse it off and let dry.
