Tenant Spotlight: Russell Manor Tenants Celebrate Accomplishments

“You are special, yes, you are.”
Those are some of the words of the song that the tenant circle sang to Community Developer Yolanda.
In March, the Russell Manor community celebrated their achievements with Yolanda, who has been their temporary Community Developer since August. As the regular Community Developer returned, they thanked Yolanda for her work before she left. Twenty tenants attended the luncheon that they had prepared.
“I was so touched by the homemade cards they had made and the song they wrote and sang for me,” Yolanda said.
From August to April, tenant volunteers:
- Increased participation in their monthly tenant circle and Tenant Experience Manager meetings.
- Hosted weekly social drop-ins: music, karaoke, cookie decorating, games and more
- Held educational training workshops: safe food handling, i-Sisters technology training, fraud prevention and pet wellness.
This is a great example of tenant volunteers and staff working together to create better communities.
