“Don’t wait until you feel completely ready.”

That’s the advice Traci Spour-Lafrance, Executive Director of the OCH Foundation, shares with women and girls who want to try something new.

For Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating women who make a difference in OCH communities.

A career built on helping others

Traci first worked at OCH as a Community Developer. She worked closely with tenants and community groups, learning about their strengths, needs, and goals.

In 2021, she joined the OCH Foundation. She took on different roles before becoming Executive Director.

Along the way, she learned the value of listening, building relationships, and working with others.

Today, Traci leads the OCH Foundation, working with her team and partners to create opportunities for OCH tenants. One she is especially proud of is Build Your Path, which helps people explore careers in skilled trades, like construction and electrical work.

For Traci, helping others find opportunities is an important part of being a leader.

“When you get into a position where you can open a door for someone else, do it.”

Her advice to women and girls

Traci’s career has taken her in different directions. She knows that you don’t always have to have all the answers before trying something new.

Her advice is to be open to learning, ask questions, and take chances.

Her story reminds us that there is no single path to success. Sometimes, taking the first step is what matters most.

Help us celebrate the women in your community!

Do you know a woman or girl in your OCH community who makes a difference?

Maybe she helps her neighbours, volunteers, shares her skills, or inspires others.

We want to hear her story!
