Holiday Party

Long-time volunteer Chrissy brought friends and neighbours together for a holiday party at Hasenack Place. She cooked five turkeys and sides. Metro donated the turkeys.

The family of a former tenant, Max, who passed away last year, donated money to cover the cost of the meal. OCH also helped pay for the event. Ability First donated lockboxes for the residents, and Chrissy’s friend donated beautifully made blankets to be handed out as gifts.

The Sovereignty of Your Home

Your home is your castle has been said many times.

At OCH, they respect that phrase every time they respond to a request for a repair at my home.

The emphasis is on maintaining a safe environment for you

To have a home should be a universal human right.

Love that neighbour as thyself. And respect your home as well

Kathy

Celebrations

With Valentine’s Day, Family Day and Chinese New Year all falling on the same long weekend, there was much to celebrate at 865 Gladstone.

Bingo

Six tenants at Blair House have started a bingo club. The group laughed and joked a lot. Opportunities to get together like this help reduce isolation and loneliness.
