Ottawa – September 17, 2020 – Ottawa Community Housing Corporation is honoured to win the 2020 Canadian HR Award for Best Social Responsibility Strategy.  The Canadian HR Awards recognize and highlight the outstanding achievements of those at the forefront of best practice and leadership in the HR profession. The award for Best Social Responsibility Strategy recognizes the organization that has embedded corporate social responsibility into its culture, in particular through its people and the role HR has played in the strategy and execution of the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

This award means a lot as it recognizes OCHC’s commitment to the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility in the workplace and in engaging employees in the process.

During the virtual awards event, OCHC’s Director of Human Resources, Cindy Newell participated as a panellist in this years’ virtual event, receiving positive feedback on the impact that OCHC is making in our community and its impact on our broader HR goals and strategies.

OCHC is proud to have welcomed over 1,300 volunteers to its Corporate Engagement Program. OCHC is providing a unique opportunity to match corporate volunteers from other organizations to projects that result in essential improvements to residents in our communities. A special thanks to our Volunteer Engagement team for their leadership, and to our staff and volunteers for supporting OCHC in making a difference in our communities.
