OCH is committed to helping make Ottawa’s community’s private roadways in our parking lots and sidewalks safe and passable for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. An effective winter maintenance program is essential to allow the Ottawa Community Housing and its residents to function under normal winter weather conditions. Please note that not all sidewalks are cleared during the winter months. These sidewalks that do not get cleared will be indicated by signage.

OCH Maintenance Services is responsible for the snow and ice removal on main roads in the parking lots. Snow removal will be carried out when there are at least two vacant spaces side by side, ONLY at the time of the final pass. Any additional snow removal of parking space build-up during the winter will be scheduled with notice so that vehicles can be moved.

The clearing of snow and ice from tenant parking spaces is the tenant’s responsibility. If you move your vehicle to park in visitors due to snow removal, you must register your vehicle, or you may be ticketed or towed at your expense.
